If an agreement is reached about the children, then this can be documented in a couple of ways
Parenting Plan
- It is often more flexible
- It can involve issues and be expressed in the parties’ words
- It can be easily varied by further agreement between the parties
Consent Orders
- These documents are prepared usually by a solicitor
- These documents are lodged with the Court
- The Orders are usually directions to the parties for when children will spend time with each of the parents but are more limited as to other areas than can be covered
- They are more difficult to vary and often require a further Court Order
- They are more expensive to prepare
